Friday Happy Hour

Wohoo!  We made it to the weekend.  To celebrate we all cut out of work (and daycare) early to hit the beach for an evening happy hour.  It's been a busy week for Steve and I, between hectic projects at work, and bit by bit trying to finish up the dining room in the evenings after Elliott goes to bed.  A quick get away to the beach was just what we needed.

Elliott enjoyed both his plastic cup of goldfish crackers,

and playing in the sand...

...and playing in the sand with his cup of goldfish crackers.  The seagulls loved us, and Elliott ate so many sand flavored crackers and grapes that I'm pretty certain we have a dirty, sandy diaper to look forward to in our near future.

We once again relished in the fact that we have a vacation destination practically in our backyard. Go ahead - be jealous:)  Did you know Steve has an ocean view from his office?  We are so spoiled.

Elliott was all about the cup today, and it might have knocked the broom and dustpan out of the number 1 favorite toy position this weekend, if only it didn't break when Elliott squeezed it too hard against the chair.  Oh well, there are more plastic cups in this world.

One more highlight from the day - check out Elliott almost standing on his own!  If you look closely you can see he's got a handful of my shirt, but for the most part that balance is all him.  I don't think he'll be walking by his first B-day, but I don't think it will be too long before he's chasing Reese all over the house.

And one more pic of my sweet, happy kid, just for kicks.  Isn't that smile infectious?  It's always Happy Hour when he's around.
