Steve's parents made the 7+ hour trek down from Auburn over the weekend to meet baby Elliott. It was great having them around. Grandma Sandy was a huge help in giving us a break from the constant demands of parenthood, and Grandpa Wayne helped Steve finish plastering the holes around our new French doors. They also helped us to initiate Elliott into one of their favorite past-times: hitting the garage sales. No great finds that day, but I'm sure Elliott will learn the ropes soon enough. We also took Elliott for his first walk down shoreline park with Reese. I'm looking forward to the day that he can take Reese for walks on his own:)
It was love at first sight for Grandma Sandy who spent as much time with him as she could. Her only other grandchild is almost 18, so she has waited a long time to have another baby in the family,
Grandpa Wayne also enjoyed his Elliott time, although after getting peed and pooped on when first picking him up he may be looking forward to the post-diaper years when they can play together outside. Regardless, we are happy he installed our diaper sprayer for us on the toilet so we're now ready to start using cloth diapers.
We also introduced Elliott to the bottle. After he figured out there was milk inside he pounded it. That's my little eater! Now we just need to work on the sleeping through the night.
We finished off the weekend with or first family road trip to San Luis Obispo. We decided to accompany Wayne & Sandy on their way out of town and eat at our favorite restaurant: The Big Sky Cafe. Sadly Elliott didn't get to partake in their tasty goodness, but he'll have many more opportunities in the future.
And a few more pictures just for fun...

Look at those big feet! He definitely gets those from Daddy. |
Thanks to everyone who suggested nicknames for Elliott! We've stuck with calling him "Kid" although he's also been titled"Mr. Elliott". My Gram suggested we call him "Rocky", short for rockstar (which he already is). I like that one too, especially because when he wears his hoodie he reminds me of Rocky Balboa in the scene where he starts working out again to the tune of Eye of the Tiger.
