Elliott's Big Day

Elliott has been getting more and more active over the last weeks, doing lots of lots of yoga moves like downward facing dog, and practicing pulling up on all sorts of low items, like this chair at the beach a few weeks ago.  The weather may not have been wonderful, but he was happy to be begging for grapes from Steve (strikingly similar to the way Reese has acted on many occasions).

Yesterday was the day it all clicked.  Elliott figured out how to pull himself up to standing position, and he started doing it everywhere.  Like on the dining room chairs...

Pulling up on our couch...

Here he is trying to get down - he hasn't quite figured out how to do that yet.

He took a break in the afternoon to play with Reese in the backyard. A boy has to rest after all that hard work.  If you look closely, Elliott is showing off his unripe persimmon that he found on the lawn, and Reese is showing off the ball that he is hoping Elliott will chase after him for.  Soon Reese Puppy - someday soon Elliott will make a good playmate...

See - Elliott loves Reese so much that he has started sharing his meals.  Those are precious bites of his first taste of pizza.

After lunch Elliott was playing in his bed while I was working on the computer in his room.  I heard him giggling, and turned around to see him smiling and standing up in his bed.

Cliches aside, he really is like a little sponge these days.  Being able to change his perspective has Elliott discovering new things about his world.  Like yesterday evening, when he pulled up on the couch, and then discovered how to turn off and on the air purifier that was next to it.  It is so cool to watch those little wheels turn in his brain.  He is one smart kid!

And after all those amazing discoveries, he resorted to the tried and true method of just sticking it in his mouth.

Honestly - it's like I am learning about the world all over again watching Elliott, and let me tell you, the world is one exciting place!
